November: FitFlow Max

HIIT and yoga. Two of my favourite things.
Actually, that's a lie. I hate HIIT with a passion. But I also know it seriously works. So, that's one of my favourite things, and another that I love to hate. But when the two are combined, surely only wonderful things can happen, right?

So when I saw this FitFlow Max workout program advertised on Facebook (over and over again), I decided (eventually) to investigate. And found myself suddenly quite excited.
Cody is a fitness streaming platform - one of many - but the difference here is that Cody specialises in fitness programs, whole sets of workouts to be done over a course of 14 to 30 days. They do have single videos, but you get more from the programs, and they provide countless indie instructors the opportunity to share their work, from yoga and Pilates to HIIT and kickboxing, so there is something for everyone and every living room.

The FitFlow Max program lasts for 30 days and consists of 5 workouts 30-40 minutes long, done for 6 days a week (one video is repeated each week). And, glancing back to the start of this post, is a combination of HIIT and yoga, and recovery. Three videos - upper body max, lower body max and total body max - are yoga routines with a HIIT fusion, repping in and out of movements to get the heartrate up and then holding to recover. Then there is core & stretch, which should be slower paced, and finally yoga fitflow, which unwinds all of the resistance and cardio done over the week.

Having just finished five weeks of Jillian Michaels' No More Trouble Zones, and with an even tougher JM workout coming in December to ward off Christmas pudge, I'm quite happy to be taking things a little slower this month, giving my body the chance to wind down while keeping strong and active, and getting myself into a great position to give December my all.

I'll update on the program in two weeks, then again at 4 weeks, followed by a review - you know, the usual!
