Crafting Archive

It may not pop up quite so often any more, but I do enjoy a good craft. The trouble is, it can be hard to come up with anything original, and there's little use in recreating someone else's tutorial, especially if seven other people have already done it, too. Plus my attention is always pulled in so many different directions that it can be hard to sit down and think of something to do. Sometimes I'll get lucky and come up with something just by looking at something that seems to be unrelated, or because I have a new medium that I want to try. Other times I'll get even luckier and think of something as I'm falling asleep that, once I wake up, I realise could work. Some of these things take quite some time for me to complete or even start, and sometimes it turns out my workings were off and it's beyond my abilities to make, but it is a passion I still have.

On this page you'll find a portal to all of my crafting tutorials, recipes and illustrations.
Not all of my recipes are healthy. There are a few cakes and biscuits, as well as cake decorating plans, because, the fact is, there's absolutely nothing wrong with eating the sweet stuff every now and then. Moderation is key, and you should never cut out things you enjoy unless they're very processed (in a really bad way) or undeniably unhealthy. But making desserts at home with real sugar rather than the fake stuff, with flour you can identify and eggs and milk from a farm, there's nothing wrong with that. Indulgence is part of life, and it's important to realise that 'indulgence' doesn't mean 'binge' or 'eat until the point that you're sick'. It simply means 'allowing yourself something enjoyable', and as long as it's not too often, you don't have to cut it out.

If you use any of my craft tutorials or recipes, I would really love to see the results, and I'd also be more than happy to add your pictures to the post, too! Made a paper mache sailing ship from my tutorial? That's something I really want to see. Made some marshmallows? Send me some a picture of them. Or perhaps one of my tutorials or crafting posts gave you an idea for something else? I'd love to see or read about that, too! Just send me a picture of whatever you made and a link to your blog if you have one, and I'll add it to the posts!
