Well, I'm getting on with my new idea. So far, so good, but it's made me realise a few flaws with the idea that, fortunately, are relatively easy to address :D The biggest worry I had with it seems to have just not happened, so I think, with practise, I'll really have something :D

I'm also buying some more supplies this weekend, so keep your eyes open for a fantastic anniversary gift!

New Ideas

I was a litte worried lately. I was beginning to think that I had made a terrible mistake.
I've not gotten much extra traffic from this first give away, but that's ok, it's kind of a relief - I'm really not ready for it. However, that doesn't mean I haven't been trying to get my shop "out there" a little more. But, over the past few days, I couldn't think of anything new, no new ideas for jewellery or anything. I was worried that I'd started to try advertising a little too soon, way before I was ready. Even now, I only have 5 things in my shop, one of which will be disappearing soon too.
But, fortunately, last night I was staring out of my window, trying to fall asleep, and I saw a star. Then, for some reason, a completed necklace just popped into my head. It's original, it could really catch on, and I personally think it's gorgeous. All I need is a little PVA glue xD
I can get started immediately, but the finished piece won't be done for a few days, if it even works. But I won't disclose anything except that it involves something big, bright, and beautiful.

Keep your eyes open. If it works, it'll be up on Etsy straight away, and up on my dA. I may even post it here too! If it doesn't work, I'll probably say so too.

It seems to be being made.

The giveaway being held on Borderless has drawn in some interest, and I have even been asked to contribute to another giveaway. I said yes to this one, but I'm afraid I will have to decline anymore. I don't want to give out what I can't afford. I was originally going to say no to both of them, but when I stopped and thought about the potential advertising involved, I thought again. Then once I'd said yes I was told that I would get additional advertising even after the event, which sealed the deal for me ;P

I've also just posted one of my personal favourites: dinosaur skulls. I'm a huge dinosaur fanatic, and one of the only two things I think I could truly enjoy doing with my career life is paleontology. The other is fantasy writing, which seems a hell of a lot more likely to happen given that I have actually completed the first book of my trilogy now, and I never finished my A levels :P

The best thing about these dinosaur necklaces is that, provided that an entire skull has been found, I can make any dinosaur you want! I'm sure I could make pretty much any animal, but I don't want to sell myself out. Dinosaurs only, for now, and in any colour you want :P

Sponsoring Giveaways

So I’ve just been given a big compliment by being asked to sponsor a give away on Megan’s blog, and, of course, I said yes. Hopefully this can get me a little more exposure. Her blog has 209 followers at my last count, whereas this…well, at this point, 0 followers xD I am effectively writing to myself, but no matter! It helps get things started.

I made some new jewellery today, and in the next few days I am hoping to get pieces up onto Etsy at long last.

Keep your eyes peeled!

We have moved!

But not the blog. I was able to salvage it with help from my beloved boyfriend who gave me a really rather obvious idea that just seemed to escape me any time I tried thinking of a solution.
Therefore, change the address in your favourites list to ""

And, as you may have guessed, Mechanical Ladybird is now known as Peaches and Pebbles.

The new shop.
The new portfolio.
The new Facebook.

I did try wordpress temporarily, but to be honest, I found it very lacking. Blogspot has a lot more flexibility than wordpress's free services.

Getting Somewhere

I think the new name will be coming in shortly. I feel like I'm on the right track and I'm starting to get to the right point. Unfortunately, all the good ideas I have are taken on blogspot (they're free on Etsy, however), so I will either have to try elsewhere, or use a domain name.

Keep you posted.

New Image

So it's all coming to be a little harder than expected. I quickly go off of names so I have yet to actually settle on one. The list is there, however, and I have the basic idea of what I want. I've made a few more necklaces and I'm quite excited about getting them out onto dA and Etsy - of course, as far as links and webpages go, this change will also lead to new URLs and such. Hopefully no one will get too lost though.

Fortunately, in some sort of way, as I have few people watching this space at the moment, I won't lose much if any traffic. I've made one sale on Etsy, and was left no feedback, so I haven't got that to worry about, I probably won't make a new dA, so as far as it all goes, it's only really Etsy and this blog that wil/might change, respectively.

Either way, keep eyes and ears open!

Fresh Image

Since the jewellery I've intended to sell in my shop has changed all of a sudden, I've decided to have a make-over. This means new items, new ideas, new name, and most importantly: a new shop.

I've been making lists and trying to fit things together, and with any luck I'll have gotten somewhere soon.
I've made some new necklaces today, which I worked very hard on last night, and were very annoying and fiddly to do, but I do have to say I am very happy with the outcome :D with any luck, they'll take off - unfortunately, their target audience is probably a small one.

Never the less! I won't get bogged down. Instead I will expand from reality to fantasy and see if I can broaden my horizons with it!

New Ideas

So I have some new ideas for jewellery combining some of my passions. I'll get them up asap for you all to see :D

Mechanical Ladybird

As this is my first blog post, I'll get you up to date.
Last weekend I attended my first fair. It was blowing a gale that day, unfortunately, so I had to bluetack every last earring and necklace down to the table, but I sat there for 5 hours nevertheless with my boyfriend.
I made a few sales, and I'm happy with how it went (though not so much with the sunburn I got - note: just because it's very cloudy and windy, does -not- mean you cannot get roasted).

But that was a few days ago. Now I'm looking forward. I've been notified of a few other fairs I could attend around Christmas, one for charity, and one in the same place as the recent one. I also have some new ideas for my main jewellery to go up on Etsy to sell to the world.

I feel good about all of this, and I even plan on getting a few pieces up on Etsy that are not jewellery related :D I've made a few batches and they get better each time :D

Anyway people, keep your eyes peeled for offers, give aways and news! It will all be here! But for now, here is my Etsy!
